Camp LoMia belongs to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The Church has provided us with the following rules and guidelines in order to utilize Camp LoMia. Please help us by respecting these requests.
LEADERS & SUPERVISION:
- The care and safety of the young women and their adherence to Camp guidelines is the responsibility of the stake and ward leaders.
- Pregnant women, men and women with high blood pressure or
breathing difficulties children, infants, and nursing mothers are strongly discouraged from attending camp. - At least 2 female adult leaders are required to stay in each cabin
with the young women at all times. - At least 2 Melchizedek Priesthood brethren should be in the
camp at all times. Brethren serve an important role in the physical safety and spiritual nature of the camp and should make themselves available at all times to assist the young women and their leaders with anything the stake or ward may need. - Bringing children to camp is highly discouraged. Focus and attention should be on the young women and the program and activities planned by the stake.
BISHOPS’ NIGHT
On this special day, only Stake Presidency members and/or Bishopric
members and their wives should be in attendance. The Bishopric should
not bring children, neither should they bring campers/motorhomes, but
should plan to stay in a cabin/addie/tent.
CARE FOR CAMP
- Only toilet paper goes in the toilets. No feminine products, paper towels, newspapers, grease or garbage.
- Please limit showers to one 3-minute shower per person PER STAY.
- Cleaning instructions and supplies are found in each bathroom. Supervise your young women as they clean.
- Cabins / Addies – Push pins and staples may be used to hang
decorations from the outside of the cabins, (no tape of any kind – never, ever). Tacks and pushpins must be removed when the decorations are taken down afterwards. This usually requires tools to pry them out. Cabin leaders, YCLs or a specific committee should bring those tools and see that the offending staples and push pins are removed before your stake leaves camp. - Rimview Tents – there are eyelets at the outside corners of the tents from which light ropes can be suspended along the sides of the tents to hang decorations (you bring the rope). Nothing should be attached to the canvas of the tents – never, ever. No tape, staples or pins. Stakes will be charged for any damage. Do not mark, paint, or attach anything (no pins or tape) to the tents or drop-down canvas closures.
- Tables must be protected during crafts or if painting fingernails.
- No purposeful damage. If such damage occurs, the group responsible will correct the problem in the manner that the camp missionaries instruct, which may include repairs and financial compensation.
- Young women leaders and attending priesthood holders are
responsible for seeing that participants adhere to camp procedures
and guidelines. Groups must be properly supervised at all times. - Graffiti, purposeful damage to the camp, discharging of fire extinguishers, etc., will be the responsibility of the stake or group to repair or replace. If such damage appears, the group responsible will correct the problem in the manner that the camp missionaries instruct, which may include repairs and financial compensation.
- A variety of originate from the camp. Hikers from Rimview camp should please be respectful of campers in Main Camp when walking to the trailhead. Use the upper road by Main Camp Archery avoiding walking through Main Camp.
DRESS, BEHAVIOR & PROGRAMS: Follow the guidelines in the Church General Handbook, YW Camp Guide and For the Strength of Youth.
EMERGENCIES
- Emergency procedures are in place for the safety of all visitors to Camp LoMia. The camp missionaries are entrusted with the stewardship of the camp, and their instructions must be followed.
- The fire alarm at Rimview is located in the kitchen next to the door. Fire extinguishers are located in each building, cabin, room, and tent, on the outside of each kitchen structure, and near the barbecues. The stake will be charged a $30 replacement fee for each extinguisher misused.
- In an emergency, no private vehicle may leave camp without permission of the missionaries in order to ensure roads stay clear for emergency vehicles. If an alarm is sounded, go to the Rimview evacuation area and follow the missionaries’ instructions.

in the central fire ring in each camp only. No lighter fluid. No
campfires outside of your designated fire ring. - Receive permission from missionaries before lighting a
campfire. - Fires must be attended at all times and completely
extinguished when not in use. - No candles, lighter fluid, or fireworks permitted.
PROHIBITED AT CAMP LOMIA
- No dogs, pets, horses, etc.
- No firearms, bb/airsoft/paint guns
- No bikes or motorcycles
- No fireworks
- No fires, except in central fire pit IF approved by missionaries
- No ATVs/golf carts except ONE that is to be used for those who have a disability or are unable to walk around camp. Youth may not drive or be given rides unless unable to walk.
QUIET HOURS
Between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am. Campers should be in their cabins by
10:00 pm. Dances and use of sound systems must end by 9:30 pm. Horns,
gongs, sirens, etcetera are not permitted at any time. Be considerate of
neighbors when signaling wake-up or gathering times.
TRASH DISPOSAL
The amount and cost of disposing of trash left by YW Camps has become
unmanageable. To ease this problem:
- After meals/snacks, each camper will scrape leftovers and toss napkins and utensils into a lined garbage can. On a table next to the can, stack their plates/bowls, one on top of the other and stack their cups into each other. Conserving space this way, the campers can put the trash into can/dumpsters.
- All props, program debris, cabin/tent decorations and signs must be taken home with you. No exceptions: you got it up the mountain, please take it down the mountain.
VEHICLES
- Control the speed of vehicles at all times and observe the 10 mph speed limit at camp
- Vehicles are to remain in camp
- Bring all you need for camp when you arrive, so you won’t have to make trips to town, including beverages for leaders.
